Heavy rain saw slips blocking state highways, evacuations and power cuts in North Island

Weird that. In my little corner of the valley in Parkway, Wainuiomata, Lower Hutt. We’ve missed most of the weather events. Sure, a few storms. A bit of flooding here and there. But it seems the gods favoured us. In New Zealand, the weather does what it does.
