Does it really matter whose family these children belong to (if they have a family left?) Warning… the video link may upset. But mainstream media does not seem to show the whole story. https://x.com/DeChegzi/status/1717115966620836142?s=20

Comes in. Puts on the fire. Prepares the supper table and grabs a lounger chair. Chuckles… ‘once we ‘err warriors…’

Did I ever tell you as a Light Warrior dressed in sheer etherical attire, standing over a grand abbys outside a heavenly gate? Watching and waiting in the dark? No? Heavens a big playground. There’s so many spaces. But this one has real energy. And it’s 100% purged of everything but a core purpose. The sheer image should make your mind alert with the presence of pure spirituality.

Chuckles again… once we ‘errr warriors. That we are.

This is the world as we wake up today:

5:49am Hezbollah leader praises Hamas attacks and makes grim warning to Israel
5:53am Israeli PM: No ceasefire until hostages return home
7:07am ‘We are going to be killed’: Reporter’s emotional outburst on live TV from Gaza

Oh, and Te Whatu Ora ditching over 1300 tonnes of unused PPE gear they horded from the masses and covid tests. Surely the unused PPE gear could have been gifted out? I bet there is a best before date and tough luck for other ventures. Like for horticulture use to keep us clean…

Welcome to the world of banana republics.

When you let AI ask you ten questions to describe ‘you’ so it can draw a picture of you and you have to be honest in your reply. So it draws what it thinks you look like. Pretty cool…

      SCAMMER SEASON

It’s that happy time of year when scammers are busy online and on your phones. Do a double check when someone online tries to do any sort of business with you. Anything to do with finances, or your data.

The huge increase of automated phone calls going around right now is a phenomenon reported by call centre advisors suddenly in large number. IF you get a call saying your whatever is in jeapordy, and press this or that… don’t. Hang up immediately. Note the time, number displayed and what was said. Report it to the relevant agency e.g. Department of Internal Affairs, Immigration, Births deaths and marriages, your bank, phone company, power company etc.

Steps you can take to protect yourself
STOP – Don’t give money or personal information to anyone if unsure. Scammers will offer to help you or ask you to verify who you are. …
THINK – Ask yourself could the message or call be fake? Never click a link in a message. …
PROTECT – Act quickly if something feels wrong.

      Be safe!

      Black Friday reminder

Don’t take everything at face value

Black Friday draws crowds, but it also attracts scammers: people hoping to make a few quick bucks out of shoppers’ eagerness to track down a bargain or ten. So trust your common sense and avoid any suspicious offers that look too good to be true

      Paywave and Merchant Fees

Here’s the thing about how resellers get away with their paywave fees and the piss off it actually created.

Merchant fees have been around for eftpos transactions as long as eftpos has been around. Actuazly, since zip-zap visa slidy carbon backed paper systems have been around (remember them?) It is not new tech. Merchant fees can be 1%, 1.5%, 2% of the transaction in a local store. It can be higher on an online store.

When paywave came into existence, resellers started upgrading their eftpos machines to new contactless tech. Banks started charging paywave fees. But it is not the 2.5% you’re paying. So what’s the give here?

If you want to know what kind of rates are around, check this one out from Westpac
      https://www.westpac.co.nz/business/products-services/accepting-payments/westpac-get-paid-instore-or-on-the-go/

Their contactless payment fee is 0.69% So why are you paying from 2.5% at a store?

There’s a few reasons I can rationalise why this is so…

      (1) It was set by popular reseller rates (not the banks)… the 2.5% became a reseller introduced standard. If you think back, this seemed to have started in the tourism/hotel/accommodation industry.

      (2) It was likely dreamed up so that for once the actual total merchant charges are covered. That is the base merchant fee plus the contactless payment fee. It is not a ‘paywave fee’ alone that the reseller is recouping. Very deceptive.

Given, in our day of running retail stores, we would not dream of asking clients to cover our merchant fees. It just was not done.

But the reality is, there had always been a base merchant rate regardless of the contactless system. And the paywave tech itself is not the reason for the fee. The banks charge a fee for paywave for good reason — the fraudulent misuse of paywave is a real issue.

I remember one Christmas, walking around the Johnsonville Mall and whilst walking around, some prick with a mobile Paywave eftpos unit was ticking up $16 transactions. I got pinged twice so how many times did jo public get caught? And of course there were hundreds in the store and the mobile unit just needed to be on contactless reach continually ticking over transactions.

IF there were 1000 in the mall … you get the picture. By the time you reported it – or even noticed it on your bank statement, if you even looked, the theif would have cashed out and closed up the merchant account.

Yes, paywave fraud is a real thing and this is the number one reason for bank fees of 0.69% typically.

It’s no reason for your local stores to be charging 2.5, 3.5, 5%, 8% in some cases. That is potential theft in itself and you have every right to question the reseller.

My suggestion: Boycott Paywave. Insert or slide the card. Abandon the thievery going on out of your hard earned pockets. Question the reseller over their fees… show them the Westpac/ANZ/ASB/TSB rates… and ask the easy question…why.

Then let us know so we can refine the above.

The Deep Web – and why being aware matters

The deep web is a part of the internet that is not indexed by search engines and requires special software or passwords to access To stay safe on the deep web, you should use a VPN to encrypt and anonymize your traffic, download the Tor browser to access the dark web, and only click on links that you trust and understand. You should also avoid any content that involves illegal or harmful activities, such as illegal porn.

While the deep web can be used for illegal activities, it is not inherently dangerous 1. In fact, there are many good reasons to use the deep web, such as researching historic news, genealogy, science, spirituality, mysteries, and supernatural encounters.

It’s important to note that the deep web contains an untapped healing need. There are minds and records that show the twisted nature of sub-humanity that are caught as deep as the web goes, in their own form of hellish nightmare. The super-addicted are there, and for some, bestiality and unimaginable acts against victims are the norm. For some, it is their ulterior reality. And when they pass on to the other side, do they not carry this with them? The deep web is a great resource if used properly. It is a human failing if used for anything else.

However, it’s crucial to take necessary precautions to ensure your safety while browsing the deep web. There are few angels in the deep, and it’s important to be aware of the risks involved.

In conclusion, the deep web is a valuable resource that can be used for good or bad. By taking the necessary precautions and being aware of the risks involved, you can safely explore the deep web and discover its many benefits.

And there be few angels in the deep.

I bring this to attention because over the past several months it has become apparent that there is a need for light warriors, those who are healers and angelic minds, to bring light to the dark. To create a place where the afflicted can get refuge and healing. But the tenets of rule, the policy and procedures to do so behind stainless steel titanium enriched super ethically and spiritually protected walls need to be super strong. The hordes will gather and try to shut the light.

So far my journey to the deep has been to check if the nature of the deep web is valid and to check the minimum requirement to do so safely. I do not have the personal mental strength to do go further alone, nor the company of other goodly souls to step further.

I hereby validate the nature of the deep web. What do we do with it.

      Nothing.
Put a wall up and let them rot.
      Discover the research value.
      Offer protection and healing.
      Just do nothing.

The Israel – Gaza – Hamas War

On October 7, 2023, Hamas militia rose to strike back at Israel for years of oppresion. They attacked communities close to Gaza, indiscriminantly attacking and killing the population and in reported cases, performing terrorist acts of beheadings, death by burning, grenades, bullets. Rape, humiliating acts of torture and pillaging of whole areas. Then they took over two hundred hostage. At the same time a massive surprise rocket attack, many of which landed in Israel.

October 7 was a Sabbath Day and public holiday in Israel. Pre-meditated and purposed to strike when they were least prepared. They attacked over 20 communities. Using rockets, paragliders, boats, motorcycles, other vehicles, and whatever other means they could, terrorists infiltrated the Jewish state and murdered around 1,200 innocent people, injured over 5,400, and took 239 hostages into Gaza.

Let’s just stop there a moment. Is any of that incorrect?

In depth reporting can be found on the AJC Website (American Jewish Community.)

Given many where recording on gopro cameras, yes. That is correct. If you do not believe, we can probably send you to the aforementioned Deep Web for video research. In fact, the Israel Military media teams will tell you the same thing. If you want to see pure horror, this can be found there.

This is not the first issue between the two states. In fact there is a historic timeline of events.

The military and political response from Israel was damning on the general population. This is another story. So what is the centre line on all of this. What is the reality of the whole scenario?

      Immigration changes looming
On immigration, the Act-National agreement commits to increase the cap on the number of seasonal workers, as well as introducing a “five-year, renewable parent category visa, conditional on covering healthcare costs, with consideration of a public healthcare levy”.

Employers will no longer be required to pay those on skilled migrant category visas the median wage.

It will also be easier for family members of visa holders to work in New Zealand, beginning with Skilled Migrant Category visa holders.

Act wants to shrink public service back to 2017 levels
The Act-National agreement promises to reduce the public sector by “reducing non-essential back office functions”, with expenditure reduction targets to be set for each agency.

Act wanted to shrink the public service back to 2017 levels, but the agreement instead says the size of the reduction will be “informed by the increase in back office head count at that agency since 2017”.

“When evaluating government expenditure, it should be assessed on the extent to which it is delivering public goods, social insurance, regulating market failure and political choice.”

Christopher Luxon: Act’s Treaty Principles policy will be advanced
The government will also advance Act’s Treaty Principles policy, arguing it will help put the Treaty in line with a modern democracy.

“New Zealanders want change that makes our lives easier,” Luxon says.

He says the government will deliver this by undertaking a common sense approach.

It will take time to turn around the mess left behind by Labour, but the government can’t wait to get stuck in, Luxon says.

All three leaders have now put pen to paper making the coalition deal official.

Luxon says the fact three parties are in coalition is historic and hence they have come up with a historic way to share the deputy PM role between Peters and Seymour.

IS 2024 the year of the Father, Son and good lord, a Goat?

Or is it the 100 days of surprises as the new government triad, err, musketeers bravely journey into the future where no man (should have) gone before?

But seriously, some of the agreements made are eye watering. It’s time to put away the toy-like thoughts and rose-coloured glasses. This trio-party government are running a knife-edge of critical policies that may leave some stunned by the impact. We should be one step ahead.

We are in a cycle where the surreal becomes real. When our quirks become fact. When de ja vu is increasing. Like seeing an ad about unsafe waters then next moment reading about a neighbour who just drowned on a tour of a beach. Or hearing about people’s limbs being damaged in the Gaza war only to see a news item the very next day about an escapee from a cult who had no arms or legs. Or how about, hoping that a good number of people win a substantial lotto win to help their lives, when 12 people win second division in the very next draw.

A build up of psychi, instinct, dejavu, knowing is here. I doubt this is just me being in a regular ‘spookly cycle’ as I am prone to do. Hard to know exactly how to explain everything that is going on right now but keep your eyes open. Don’t try to influence anything, just be an observer. There is an air of change right now. Nothing current is guaranteed to last. But it also feels youthful and right.

      Beating employers statistics models

What to do when your employer insists on using statistics to drive employment or pay review and your activities fall outside or in addition to what the statistics represent.

Most agencies that are front line use models of statistics, adherences and/or other policy instruction to warrant whether or not an employee may qualify for progression. And most employees who are faced with this system eventually find the more they become subject matter experts (SME’s) in their field(s) of work, the less they seem to conform. But not for anything more than doing their job.

The issue with core focus on statistics or adherences is that it puts the entire emphasis of accountability on the employee. And if the employee has not kept track, or is unable to do so due to work pressures, this makes the progression model above outlined overwhelmingly constructive to deny progression.

If you are in a call centre where for instance the next call, email or internal comms is 12 seconds after the last call and you hardly get time to complete your wrap up notes within the adherence requirement (say 10 minutes average handling time), you don’t have time to record and update all the schedule variations. So what do you do.

You take the entire adherence, statistics, progression policy document and write a case report that explains exactly what you have done. I can offer a {slightly masked example should you be interested. This is what I did do:-

      1) Qualify exactly what is required to obtain career or pay progression.
      2) Ask the question – what do you do if there is an issue where the employee has worked dutifully but due to the nature of their work, can not meet the policy.
      3) If they don’t advise, respond that in this case they intend to put a case report forward for consideration.
      4) Prepare the case report and ensure it is well presented.
      5) Submit it in time for any deadline.

Feedback welcome. I hope this helps some of you if the situation arises.

How do authorities handle external communications?

Most email and call centres run centralised queue systems. They do this to facilitate handing out communications, calls, emails and even standard mail to operators in a manner that maximises staff resources. So if there are say ten operates in one queue, the system will distribute comms fairly across the group. It is also one of a few reasons why you may have several staff handling different responses.

Another reason you may have different responders is because it is also common practice for staff to have different subject matter expertise (‘SME’) and so you won’t see a Tenancy and Bonds officer responding to a Citizenship question for instance. In these cases, one agent or staff member will transfer to a different queue or recipient/group.

Let’s say you emailed asking about a citizenship update. It would go to a queue. There may be 250 emails in the queue and 20 operators. The agency will typically drop an email to an agents attention when they complete the prior one (that is, when they are scheduled and active on emails.)

Agents may respond directly, from policy templates, or need to do some research. They may also need to work across several systems such as database connected internal applications, to retrieve information. The information they retrieve will include verification of the comms (are you authorised on that file?); if there are any alerts or relevant notes; and then if this is all checked, the status as requested.

Another procedure is for your email to be transformed into an internal SME template so it goes to specific people for responding.

It is usual for replies you receive to be based on a templated response. That is, a preformatted email or voice response in which your specific data is identified. It is not unusual to get a few quirky responses where the templated wasn’t properly filled in or activated fully.

How do I best format an email to an agency?

      Be specific.
      Be factual.
      Be honest.
Keep your communications as short as possible. E.g. Please provide a status update for application 12345.

If you have several questions, list them
      1. Question 1
      2. Question 2
      3. Question 3

Even though staff are empathic to situations, do not go on to write an empathic chapter of your live’s struggles. Oh, sir, my neice is pregnant and I want to get there by Christmas. My life would be over if I could not.

      No no no.

The question is: Please provide a status update on application 12345.

      Humanitarian Purpose for your application?>

No agency is bound to consider any form of urgency unless it is truly a humanitarian issue or completely in the undeniable interest of the country you are applying to. Missing a booked flight is not truly humanitarian. It is not even their problem. Getting to a once in a lifetime urgent cancer treatment appointment is likely. Getting back because your direct family member is in hospital on terminal life support is likely.

If you meet the criteria for humanitarian consideration, check with their website how to apply. Again, be factual. Specific. Honest and keep it to point.

      Are we pro soul?

Pro soul includes acknowledging and allowing all living entities, humans, flora, fauna, the right to exist and to have potential. It exceeds all political, military, economic boundaries, ethnic prejudice of any species and any sense of overbearing entitlement.

In the apt words of one Sci Fi we should say:

      “I See You.”

And we should say that in mind if not in voice to every ‘soul’ we come by. Including the very trees around our homes and walkways. To every bird and walking animal. And to every human. At the very least, to be ‘mindful’ that we live in a world of souls, including the very earth we inhabit. Even the food that we eat came originally from a soul-inhabited life.

If you are looking to broaden the mind and see beyond the outer reality, this is a stepping stone on that journey.

What you see when you look deeper can be to touch the universal.

The thing about age is, you can be there, knowing the very principles that make something work but some smart arse will come along and insist they know better. So you let them fret around with this, fret around with that, insist they are right, insist they are right, insist they are right (that’s right, they’re insistent. Irritating eh?!) So you say, this is for that purpose, that is for the other purpose. Nope. Ok. So, you calmly get up and press the power button (or whatever makes it operate efficiently) and walk away leaving them to their insistency.

Life Lesson for the moment: age is no excuse for turning knowing minds into prisons.

2023 was noted for being one of greedflation, increased homelessness, ramraids and home invasions, political change, suqeezed middle, threats of layoffs including public servants, ignorant political statements. ending with a disaster of a war in Israel- Gaza and Ukraine – Russia. Have we missed anything? Well, that doesn’t account for 2024. And we already have a taste of how that’s going to go. There are going to be some majors on all the above fronts.I’m not picking up the Age of Aquarius and new age enlightment with all this. How about you?

This is what Microsoft’s Bing AI thinks of our website here at spirit.org.nz:

Spirit.org.nz is a website dedicated to promoting an understanding of the principles of Spiritualism and bringing together those who identify as Spiritualists. The website offers a range of services, including meditation sessions, discussions, and interviews with spiritual people 1. In addition to this, they also provide a Facebook group where like-minded individuals can connect and share their spiritual knowledge and experiences 2.

Partly true. Possibly taking into account history. Partly reading the short term future. Didn’t know AI could predict the future. Interesting.

      Covid-19 Royal Commission of Inquiry
Do you have lessons learned to share with the COVID-19 Royal Commission of Inquiry?

You might’ve recently seen advertising or news articles inviting all New Zealanders to have their say in Aotearoa New Zealand’s response to the pandemic and possible changes to the terms of reference for the Royal Commission of Inquiry into COVID-19 Lessons Learned. The Royal Commission into COVID-19 Lessons Learned wants to figure out what went well, and what we need to improve, before the next pandemic.

IF you are interested in further details or want to submit to the commission, please see our editorial out on the main website homepage.

Let’s see…. how to get back to brass instrument playing after 25 years of no blow…

Headphones… anyone got noise cancelling headphones? But seriously, I had a recording of how I used to play somewhere. It was of exceptional quality. But I had a secret… I would only play the music scores I could play proficiently. In an orchestra, the rest of me was ,…. silent *but heck, it worked. No one complained.

      Update on Israel – Gaza

For over 50 years, Israel has been supporting its settlements and military control of West Bank and Gaza. The people of Israel as it stands today will have quite something to say about this occupation and have concern over regional security. Surely, the occupation was not intended to be lasting. But Israel has determination to ensure security for its people. It’s an aweful situation for all sides and a concern to the world.

From recent Israel broadcasts including from ministers, there is a desire to potentially acquire land in Gaza for settlement but surely the concerns of the wider states need to be heard, as with the people of Gaza who’s land is being stripped. One concern is the acquisition of territory by or with the threat of force. This is classic colonialism which the rest of the modern world is struggling to understand. The second being palestinian peoples right to self determination. How is this to be effected? And inability of Palestinian refugees to return to their rightful place of residence is something no one outside of the region truly understands. Perhaps we don’t understand the thinking going on here.

Hoping the current international court of justice will see through this. I am hopeful for the people of Israel and Palestine for a workable solution that bypasses the military-political attitudes of the day.

Unfortunately the ICJ rulings are non-binding but more advisory on how things should be approached. But there are half the countries in the world attending the current hearings, which is unprecedented. There are no two parties, only the court and all states who are able to provide oral or written submissions on the matter at hand.

International law is made by the practices of these states and the common interpretation of the law.

Israel has not set any timeline on when the occupation will end. It has the pretext that it desires to continue control of the palestinian people. The rulings of the court are intended to be effected after the ruling, back for instance to the Security Council or the UN in general. Historically the ICJ cases have served to provide guidance on what International Law is.

This can create mobilisation on the ground and a step towards ending the colonial regime in occupied Palestine.

But right now, the Israel military-political government have stated to the people of Rafah, you have until the end of Ramadan (mid March) to release all the captives or we will strike Rafah as like all the other regions of Gaza. That is, accusing the ordinary people of Gaza, to be terrorists, one and all.

The Palestinian people are not ‘asking for a favour.’

      Trademe trapped

All over the web you will see people mention this popular website as a go to in New Zealand to sell unwanted items and even make money selling handcrafts, new import products or as an adjunct to your own self employment. In certain areas this no doubt works well. I’ve been selling on Trademe for years. Or so I thought. When I ran an annual profit and loss (cashflow report) on my sales and direct costs, my belief I was ‘selling’ and making additional income to support family, was shot entirely to dust. The worst aspect of this is that I am money smart when it comes to business. But this was an oversight I’ll not easily forget.

If you are looking to sites like Trademe, read my story and ***do better than me for your own sake *** Its on the main website titled “TRADEME – BUT NOT (FULLY) FOR ME”
